Benjamin ?Jack? Markley age 76 of Kokomo, Indiana passed away April 16, 2009 at Fairmont Rehabilitation Center, Kokomo, Indiana. Born May 13, 1932 in Howard County, Indiana to William C. ?Kelly? and Christine M. (Spiegle) Markley. Mr. Markley was a US Navy veteran and served during the Korean War. He was a yard master for Continental Steel Corp for 33 years and a crossing guard for Bon Air and Washington Schools for 8 years. He was a member of Fresh Start Ministries in Kokomo. He married Lynda JoAnn Cass on July 17, 1956 in Kokomo, and she preceded him in death on February 25, 2007. Surviving are 3 sons: Michael Markley (Kathy), Mark Markley (Melissa) both of Kokomo and Jeffrey Markley (Susan) of Galveston, Indiana, 1 daughter: Frances Hembree (George) of Kokomo, 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 1 brother: Larry Cook (Joyce) of Kokomo, and 4 sisters: Pat Bottom (Don), Joyce Clarkson, Peggy Hosea (Mike) and Arleta Reith all of Kokomo. Mr. Markley was preceded in death by his wife and parents. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Monday April 20, 2009 at Fresh Start Ministries in Kokomo, burial will follow at Albright Cemetery in Kokomo. Friends may call 5-8 Sunday at the church.
