Betty Jean Melton age 76 of Frankfort passed away January 12, 2010 in St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital. Born September 9, 1933 in Monticello, Kentucky to Sam & Emma (Smith) Harness. She worked for Uni Electric for 15 years and Old Indiana for 10 years. She was a faithful member of Victory Chapel for many years. She married James C. Melton on August 9, 1952 and he preceded her in death on January 3, 1986.;Surviving are 3 sons: Roger Melton of Somerset, KY, James ?Curt? Melton (Jenny), and Tom Melton (Vonita) both of Frankfort. 2 daughters: Betty Ezra (Jan Harmon) of Frankfort, and Barbara Richardson (Larry) of Monticello. 24 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son Sammie, a granddaughter Sonja, 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday January 16, 2010 at Archer-Weston Funeral Home burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorials appreciated to the Diabetes Association or Victory Chapel.
