Carol Ottinger

Carol J. Ottinger, 79, of Frankfort passed away November 8, 2013 at the IU Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis. She was born Januray 20, 1934 to Emmett and Mary (West) Brown. She married Richard D. Ottinger on September 15, 1961 in Frankfort and he survives. A lifelong Clinton County resident, she was a 1952 graduate of Frankfort High School and worked for Peter Paul Cadbury for 25 years. She retired from the Clinton County Clerk’s office. She was a member of the First Christian Church where she was active in the church handbell choir, card club, youth mentoring and was a volunteer secretary. Surviving along with her husband Dick are her Daughter: Dianne (Ron) Gant of Frankfort; Sons: Dave Ottinger of Indianapolis and Darrin (Corinna) Ottinger of Carmel; Siblings: Charles Skiles, Mary Noll, David Skiles, Alice Hoover, and Gene Skiles; 9 Grandchildren: Emily Gant, Paige Gant, Elizabeth Gant, Tanner Ottinger, Wyndham Gant, Sarah Ottinger, Sydney Ottinger, Sam Ottinger, and Bailey Ottinger. She was preceded in death by her parents. Friends and family will gather for a celebration of life service at 4 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2013 at the First Christian Church in Frankfort with a time of gathering immediately following in fellowship hall. Pastor Pamela Ditson-McCall will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Clinton County Cancer Fund.
