Howard Geiger White age 86 of Frankfort passed away September 10, 2008 in St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.? Born November 5, 1921 in Boone County, Indiana to Oscar & Edna Jane (Geiger) White.? He graduated from Thorntown High School, served in the US Army during World War II receiving a bronze star and purple heart, was a member of Jefferson Masonic Lodge and the Colfax American Legion.? He attended Antioch Church.? He worked 25 years at the Colfax Elevator and then retired after 20 years from the Chrysler Corporation.? He married Virginia Walker on January 4, 1942 in Thorntown and she survives.? Also surviving are his children: James H. White (Sherry) of Bradenton, FL and Karen Beard (Larry) of Rossville, 5 grandchildren: Amy Reinhardt, Natalie Bear, Chad Smith, Cindy Hoffman, and Scott Beard and 15 great grandchildren, as well as 4 brothers: Gerald White (Lou Ann) of Port Charlotte, FL, Ralph White (Betty) of Indianapolis, Marvin White (Nancy) of Bradenton, FL, and Glen White (Charlotte) of Thorntown.? He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, 1 brother, and a grandson.? Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday September 13, 2008 at Archer-Weston Funeral Home, entombment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.? Friends may call 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home.? Memorials appreciated to the Antioch Church.?
