Jimmy Larry Hill age 68 of Troy, Ohio and formerly of North Vernon and Lafayette, Indiana passed away November 11, 2008 in Dayton, Ohio. Born October 27, 1940 in Frankfort, Indiana to James Hanley & Ruth Aileen (Gober) Hill and was raised by Otis & Lola Mae Hill. He was a 1958 graduate of Colfax High School. He married Sharon R. Payne on June 2, 1961 in Colfax and she preceded him in death on November 15, 2003. He retired from Rostone Corporation in Lafayette after 42 years, he also worked for Penn Electrical for 3 years while living in North Carolina. He was an umpire and referee for 20 years in the Lafayette area. His memberships included St. Lawrence Catholic Church where he served as Euchristic Minister and Usher for many years. Surviving are his 5 children: Andy Hill (Felicia) of North Vernon, IN, Jason Hill (Amanda) of Micro, NC, Dana Hill of West Columbia, SC, Christine ?Sis? John of Lafayette, IN, Michelle ?Micki? Craig (Rick) of Lafayette, IN, 6 grandchildren: Madeline, Meagan, Halee, and Noah Hill, and Skyler and Abel Craig. His companion and special friend: Martha Karns of New Carlisle, OH and her sons Ken Karns Jr. and Steven Karns. 2 brothers: Bobby W. Hill of Colorado Springs, CO and Max W. Hill of Ghent, WV.;Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Archer-Weston Funeral Home in Frankfort, Indiana. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery in Colfax. Friends may call 4-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorials appreciated to Hospice of Jennings County 245 Norris Ave North Vernon, IN 47265 or Because We Care Fund at Bethel Baptist Church 77 Norris Ave North Vernon, IN 47265.

    I wish to send my regards to Jason Hill and family. I will never forget the great times we all shared playing baseball 20 years ago…What I learned from Mr. Hill in life is priceless…My most vivid memory is when Mr. Hill would take a picture of us with his camera…which as we all know, Mr Hill never had a camera 99% of the time…it was the fact that he made us laugh and pretend that our picture was taken….
