John Staley

John Frederick Staley age 90 of Frankfort passed away February 9, 2009 at Milner Community Healthcare Center in Rossville. Born November 25, 1918 in Fulton County, Indiana to Russell & Grace (McDougle) Staley. He was a graduate of Fulton County High School. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II. He worked in Auto Parts Sales and Repair all of his life working for Hardy?s Auto Parts, then Staley?s Auto Parts and Repair, and Fairground Implement. His memberships included Frankfort Moose Lodge #7 where he was a 40 year member, Frankfort American Legion Post #12, and Good Sam?s Camping Club. He and his wife were caregivers and operated a daycare from there home for many years and he was considered ?Grandpa? to the many children they helped care for attending there sporting events and school functions. He married Donna L. Goodnight in 1946 and she preceded him in death in 1968. He then married Dorothy E. (Bledsoe) Woodruff on March 3, 1973 and she survives. Also surviving is a son: Dale Staley (Julie) of Juno, Alaska, 3 stepchildren: Judy Donnoe (James) of Rossville, Greg Woodruff of Frankfort, and Michael Woodruff (Susan) of Clark, Wyoming. 8 grandchildren: Christy, Chad, Donnie, Mary, David, Matthew, Jessy, and Timothy, 7 great grandchildren, and 3 ?adopted? granddaughters which they helped raise, Brittany, Morgan, and Allison, and a very special friend of the Staley?s, Bridget. 1 sister: Olive Barker (Bob) of Pittsburgh, PA. He was preceded in death by his first wife, 2 brothers and a sister. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Funeral services will be 2 PM Thursday February 12, 2009 at Archer-Weston Funeral Home. Entombment with Military honors at Greenlawn Mausoleum. Friends may call Noon ? 2PM Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials appreciated to Mooseheart.
