Betty Harrison

Betty Jean Harrison, 89, formerly of Frankfort, died Aug. 20, 2011 at 1 p.m. in the St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo. She was born March 28, 1922 in Frankfort, the daughter of Robert E. and Rella (Robertson) Allen. She married George Francis “Bing” Harrison on Nov. 29, 1939, and he preceded her in death Dec. 13, 2006. Mrs. Harrison was a homemaker and had also worked at Mallory’s for 18 years, retiring in 1969. She was a member of the New Life Assembly of God in Frankfort. She is survived by one son: Jerry L. Harrison (wife Sharon) of Kokomo; three grandchildren: Cinda Thompson of Frankfort, Jeff Harrison of Lafayette, Brian Harrison of Owasco; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Frances Sherer (1995),Granddaughter: Kimberly Sherer, five Brothers and three Sisters. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011 at the Archer-Weston Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Frankfort. Friends may visit two hours prior to services. Burial will be at Bunnell Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Association with envelopes available at the funeral home.

    I will miss Betty’s emails to me and Kenny. They were always funny and showed what a good sense of humor Betty had. I’m sure she’s entertaining the angels now. We offer our condolences and will keep the family in prayer.

    I have known Betty for the time she has lived at Friendship Haven. She lived 2 doors down from me, she attended activities with us including lunch in the community room at my table and sometimes next to me. I will miss her greatly. She was a wonderful person and glad to call her my friend.

    Jerry My husband Dave and I have been friends with your Mom and Dad for years, we lived in the trailer Park with them. I also became her housekeeper while she was living in Mulberry. Betty and I have kept in contact via emails for the3 past few years, since she moved away. We also made phone calls. Iam saddened at her loss. But I know she will suffer no ore and she will be with Bing. I send my prayers and condolences to you and your family. She was a ver sweet and careing lady. It has been my pleasure to know her all these years.
