Betty Jo Mir age 73 of Frankfort passed away March 7, 2009 at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. Born December 26, 1935 in Central City, Kentucky to Lee & Lucy (Greenwood) Spinks. She was a graduate of Lafayette High School in Lexington, Kentucky. She was a homemaker most of her life, and also was a cosmetic representative and a color analyst for many years. She also was a partner in a dress shop and worked in a bridal shop and worked in interior decorating for a short time. She married Paul Thomas Kirby in 1953 and he preceded her in death January 27, 1991. She married Wes Mir on August 1, 1992 and he survives. Also surviving are her 3 children: Mark Kirby (Kimberly) of Odell, Indiana, Michael Kirby (Mary Ellen) of Frankfort, and Rebecca Kirby of Kempton, Indiana. 2 grandchildren: Adam and Kristin Kirby. 2 very special nieces: Regina Weathers (Bill) of Frankfort and Patricia Kruer (Michael) of New Albany. She was preceded in death by her first husband, parents, 1 brother John Spinks, and 2 sisters: Ruth Ward and Frances Whitson. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Archer-Weston Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
