Bill J. Timmons

Bill J. Timmons, 89, of Rural Colfax, passed away March 16, 2021 in his home.  He was born on June 23, 1931 at home in Clinton County to William H. and Love (Bowman) Timmons.  He married Irma “Dee” Parker on September 5, 1954 in Shannondale, Ind. and they enjoyed 66 years of marriage, she survives.

Bill was a 1949 graduate of Colfax High School.  He farmed for most of his life, beginning at age 14, and put out 58 crops over the years.  He loved farming and tractors.  He was a member of the Colfax Christian Church, the Colfax Lions Club, and had enjoyed being a Boy Scout.

Memorial donations may be made in Bill’s honor to the Colfax Christian Church or the Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department, with envelopes available at the church.  Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center is honored to assist the Timmons family.

Visitation and Services

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Colfax Christian Church, 314 S. Clark Street, Colfax.  Friends may visit from 12 Noon until the time of service at 2 p.m. at the church.  Burial will follow Plainview Cemetery, Colfax.  Out of respect for the health, safety, and comfort of all in attendance, guests will be expected to adhere to current CDC guidelines regarding appropriate social distancing and the wearing of masks.

Surviving along with his wife: “Dee” are his Daughter: Debra (Keith) Johnson of Kansas; Sons: John (Kristine) Timmons of Illinois and Mike (Peggy) Timmons of Rural Colfax; 10 Grandchildren; 19 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son: David Alan Timmons in 1959, and siblings: Carrol Timmons, Charles Elbert Timmons, Florence Lewis, and Maxine Edmonson.

    Just learned of Bill’s passing this morning from my dad Jerry after he received a call. Our deepest condolences to Dee, Debbie, Mike, John & families. We have enjoyed Bill’s and your families friendship over the years and always admired Bill’s skill in farming and mechanics and his attention to detail.
