Bobby Ray Ayers, 72, Frankfort, died April 9, 2011 at home with his family.;He was born August 25, 1938 in Lee County, Va. to John and Julia (Massengill) Ayers. He married Nell June Thompson on March 28, 1964 in Frankfort and she preceded him in death on June 16, 2008.;Mr. Ayers attended school in Lee County, Va. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1960-1964 and served in the Army Reserves from 1964-1968. He was a Union Roofer and a member of the Union Roofers Local 119. He retired in 2003. He was also a member of the Fishing Club of Oakdale. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling.;He is survived by his two daughters, Cathy Ann (Paul) Cox of Frankfort and Rhonda (Jose) Castillo of Houston, Texas, brother Harley Ayers of Ewing, Va., two sisters, Bertha Cottrell of Frankfort and Loraine Faulkner of Corbin, Ky., six grandchildren, Bobby Lee Jones, Amber Elizabeth Nickles, Deidre Jones, Brittany Spencer, Stacia Spencer and Stephanie Spencer, and six great-grandchildren.;He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and several brothers and sisters.;Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Archer Weston Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 12th from 4-7 p.m. the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery.;Memorial donations may be made to the Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available.
