Donald J. Wilson

Donald J. Wilson, 93, of Frankfort, passed away April 7, 2021 at IU Health Frankfort Hospital.  He was born on November 16, 1927 in Democrat Township near Cutler in Carroll County, Ind. To Warren O. and Mary L. (Jervis) Wilson.  He married Mickey R. Carman on July 18, 1948 in Frankfort and she preceded him in death on March 10, 2011.

Don was a 1945 graduate of Cutler High School and served in the United States Army in Japan from 1946 to 1947.  He retired in 1992 as manager from Hazelrigg Grain Co. in Lebanon after working there for 13 years.  He had also been employed at Honnegger Feed Co. in Fairburry, Ill. for four years, with Stevenson Grain & Feed, and Sedalia Elevator.  He also sold seed corn for ten years for the V.R. Seed Co. and Todd Hybrid Seed.

Memorial donations may be made in Don’s honor to the Salvation Army of Clinton County, 300 W. Washington Street, Frankfort, IN  46041.

Visitation and Services

Private Family Services will be held Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center, 501 East Clinton Street, Frankfort.  Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Frankfort.  Out of respect for the health, safety, and comfort of all in attendance, guests will be expected to adhere to current CDC guidelines regarding appropriate social distancing and the wearing of masks.

Surviving are his Sons: Steven Lee (Judy) Wilson of Delphi, Danny J. Wilson of Frankfort, Darrell W. (Carol) Wilson of Rossville; Grandchildren: Stacy Gangwer, Bradford (Carrie) Miller, Brianne Wilson (Significant Other: Dustin), Brett (Kim) Wilson, Melissa (Adam) Gray, and Gregory (Tara) Wilson; 10 Great-Grandchildren; and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Deborah Miller; and 2 sisters: Peggy Wilson and Glendora Sparks.

    As a kid, I remember Don from Todd Seed Corn and Mom and Dad used Todd until it closed. Many years later, I had the pleasure of meeting Don again and his memory was as sharp as it was when I was a kid. Good man and a delight to talk to.

    Deepest sympathy from Jill and I. I have many fond memories of the times our parents were together and also at Warren and Mary’s house. Dad and Mom loved our family and I am sure the reunion is going on now. Hugs to everyone!

    So sorry to hear of your loss. Your Mom snd Dad lived by my Mom, Charolette Henry at Hotdog Avenue . They had a grand time and enjoyed each other’s company very often. My sincere condolences are with you. Jill
