Gene M. Sherfey Davis age 92 of Milner Healthcare Center passed away January 27, 2010 at Home Hospital in Lafayette. Born June 20, 1917 in Clarks Hill, Indiana to Joe & Effie (Finch) Parvis. She was a graduate of Clarks Hill High School, and attended Beautician school. She was a longtime Colfax resident and owned and operated a beauty shop from her home for many years. She was a member of Colfax Christian Church. She married Samuel F. Sherfey on Feb. 2, 1935 and he preceded her in death October 20, 1965. She later married Richard O. Davis on March 5, 1971 and he preceded her in death March 11, 1998. Surviving is a daughter: Beverly ?Tootie? G. Stingley of Rossville, and a son: Bob J. Sherfey (Cora)of Burlington. 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday January 30, 2010 at Colfax Christian Church 314 S. Clark St. Colfax, Indiana, burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery. Friends may call beginning at 1 PM Saturday at the church. Memorials appreciated to Colfax Christian Church.

    I am sorry for the loss of your Mother. Your mother, my Aunt Gene, was a fantastic beautician, she was the only one I liked to fix my hair. She is at peace now for that we can rejoice.
