Gertrude “Maxine” Cockrum, 87, of Frankfort passed away September 30, 2013 at Clinton House Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on March 11, 1926 in Clinton County to Grover and Blanche (Richey) Huffer. She married Frank Austin Cockrum on November 4, 1944 in Frankfort and he preceded her in death on August 20, 1997.;Maxine was a lifelong Clinton County resident and worked for 20 years as housekeeper for Dr. Harry T. Stout II. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Frankfort and a member of the American Baptist Women’s Association. She enjoyed raising finches, cockatiels, and love birds. She was also a fantastic cook.;Survivors include a son: Frank “Steve” Cockrum of Frankfort, son-in-law: Tom Shaff of California, grandson: Ian Kyle (Destiny) Shaff of California and 2 great grandchildren: Sebastian and Paige.;She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter: Melba Elaine Shaff, 2 brothers, 2 half-brothers, and a sister.;Services;Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2031 at Scotland Cemetery.
