Kay Jean Randolph

Kay Jean Randolph, 77,  of Frankfort passed away on Monday, August 17, 2015 at Mulberry Health & Retirement Community.  She was born on March 19, 1938 in Frankfort to Robert E. and Betty L. (Unroe) Reed.  She married H. Phil Randolph on August 28, 1954 in Danville, IL and he preceded her in death on September 4, 2014.

Kay was a 1955 graduate of Frankfort High School.  She worked for 4 years at National Cigar Factory, 5 years as a QMA at Frankfort Nursing Home, was Co-manager of Broadview Lake Campground for 10 years, and most recently she had worked as a cashier at Schultz IGA.  She was a member of First Christian Church and was past president of the VFW Auxiliary & Eagles Auxiliary.

Memorials may be made in Kay’s honor to the Clinton County Cancer Fund.

Visitation and Services

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center in Frankfort. Friends may visit from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park where she and Phil will be laid to rest together.

Survivors include her Daughters: Crys (Terry) McInerney of Columbus, IN, Cindy McDill (Companion: Bob Hammond) of Lithia, Florida, and Cathy (Brian) Hall of Frankfort; Sons: Mike Randolph (Companion: Melissa Henderson) of Frankfort, Doug (Susie) Randolph of Lafayette, and Greg (Debbie) Randolph of Frankfort; Brother: James Reed of Frankfort; Half-Sister: Suzanne Reed of Frankfort; 26 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren with one on the way.

Preceded by:

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, grandmother: Edna Reed, who raised her, step-mother, and her half-brother: Tom Reed.

    So sorry for your loss. Kay and my mom Sandy were friends when we were growing up and i remember good times coming to her house to play. She was so kind and always wanting to feed us even though she had a large family to take care of. What a great lady!
