Laura Haines

Laura L. Haines age 61 of Colfax passed away November 19, 2008 in Methodist Hospital Indianapolis. Born November 30, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She married Robert D. Haines on December 21, 1963 in Colfax and he survives. She has worked the past 8 years at Colfax Post Office as a Postmaster relief, she formerly had worked for National Cigar, Clarks, Colfax IGA, and National Seal. She attended Colfax Wesleyan Church, and was an EMT with Colfax Ambulance service for 18 years. In addition to her husband, survivors include her 3 children: Darrell Haines of Thorntown, Tonya Hudson (Shawn) of Darlington, and Angela Jenkins of Frankfort. 4 grandchildren and her twin brother: Billy F. Waggoner (Linda) of Kokomo. She was preceded in death by a grandson. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday, November 23, 2008 at Archer-Weston Funeral Home burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery. Friends may call 4-6 PM Saturday at the funeral home.

    I was shocked to hear of my cousin’s passing. I last saw her in April at my mother’s funeral, and we corresponded a few times after that. She gave me a beautiful lace doily that she had made. My heart goes out to her family. Laura will be greatly missed.

    I only had the priviledge to meet this special lady a few times..and recently texting back and forth..but it didn’t take long to know how what a special woman she was. She was the rock for so many people to lean on…She will be greatly missed..
