Mary Lou Norton age 80 of Colfax passed away peacefully at 2:10 AM January 21, 2010 in Home Hospital. Diagnosed with Cancer 6 months previously and was cared for by her 2 daughters at home. She was born December 15, 1929 in Crawfordsville, Indiana to Loyd & Lucille (Jarvis) Hankins. She worked several years at Millers Restaurant in Colfax, P.R. Mallory Timers, and retired from Federal Mogal in 1995. After retirement she worked with Sue & Dick Timmons in there meat processing plant and catering business. She married Coleman Norton on August 25, 1949 and they divorced after 40 years of marriage, and he preceded her in death in 1997. She was recently preceded in death November 22, 2009 by her longtime companion of 18 years Robert L. Sharp. She and Bob enjoyed many trips to Brown County each year for the Covered Bridge Festival, and enjoyed many trips to Colorado to visit family. She was an avid Nascar and Jeff Gordon and Indianapolis Colts fan. She enjoyed taking care of her yard and attending her grandson?s soccer games. She attended church Sunday mornings with the Rev. Schuller at the Crystal Cathedral. She recommitted her life to Christ on December 7, 2009. Surviving are her 2 daughters: Debbie Jo Seward of Clarks Hill and Terrie Sue Bushman of Darlington, her only grandson: Drew Norton Bushman and his companion Samantha Copeland. Her beloved dog Molly Lue. 1 sister: Sue Timmons (Dick) of Colfax, sister-in-law: Donna Hankins of Aurora, CO and a brother: Ted Hankins (Phyllis) of Colfax. And her extended family of Robert Sharp?s whom she considered her own. Her longtime friend Minie DeFord. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother: Devon ?Charlie? Hankins, 1 son: Christopher Coleman Norton, and her best friend JoAnn Royer. Funeral services will be held 7 PM Saturday January 23, 2010 at Archer-Weston Funeral Home. Friends may call 3 PM until service time on Saturday. Memorials appreciated to Indiana United Methodist Childrens Home in Lebanon. Family burial of cremains will take place at a later date in Plainview Cemetery.

    I just learned of Mary Lou’s passing. I worked with her in the mold room at Fed. Mogul from 1966 to 1976. I remember her patience, her sence of humor and most of all her ready smile as she trained me on the mold presses. She will be missed. Rest in peace, pretty lady.
