Robert McGee

Robert Edward “Rob” McGee age 59 of Kirklin passed away November 24, 2009 in the Veterans Hospital in Indianapolis. Born September 25, 1950 in Frankfort to the late Theodore E. McGee & Lamyra C. “Molly” (Lucas) Shaw. He was a 1968 graduate of Frankfort High School then went into the US Army where he served as a point man in Vietnam. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, and also a member of the American Legion. He worked 19 years at Frito Lay, and then for 10 years at Lake Erie Screw Company. Surviving is his mother of Sheridan, his longtime companion: Kathy Shelley with whom he made his home in Kirklin, 2 sons: Lonny B. McGee (Michelle) of Martinsville, Donavan Wyatt of New Mexico 2 daughters: Sarah Fall of Lebanon, and Shannon Waddell of New Mexico, 9 granchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Monday November 30, 2009 at Archer-Weston Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Zionsville. Friends may call 11 AM until service time on Monday at the funeral home.

    Dear Daddy, I am so sorry that I never got to meet you in person and that you passed away not knowing who I am. It was nice to talk to you over the years and I know that I will meet you one day in Heaven. Rest in peace and know that I love you very much!     I’m so sorry to hear Rob has passed. I worked with him and one thing I have to say, he always had a smile on his face. He was easy going and seemed to not let life get to him too much. He was a nice guy.
