Ruth A. Royse, 87, of Frankfort, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 17, 2019. She was born on April 6, 1931 in Wheeling, West Virginia to Frank and Dora Irene (Surber) Cheek. She married Lewis Blackburn in 1945 and he preceded her in death. She married Clarence E. “Sonny” Royse in 2004 and he preceded her in death.
Ruth attended Scircleville Schools and worked at The National Cigar Factory and Del Monte in Frankfort. She had also worked in nursing homes and was a waitress. She lived in Indianapolis for 31 years and had moved to Frankfort in 2017. She enjoyed animals of all kinds and loved feeding the squirrels and birds. She especially loved her dogs: Frankie, Lucky, and Baby.
Memorial donations may be made in Ruth’s honor to the Clinton County Humane Society, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
Visitation and Services
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center, 501 East Clinton Street, Frankfort. Friends may visit 4-8 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2019 at the funeral home. Rev. Jerry Blackburn will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park.

Surviving are her Children: Patty (Gary) King of Morrisville, NC, John (Natalie) Blackburn of Frankfort, Kenny (Marsha) Blackburn of Lafayette, Jerry (Mary) Blackburn of Frankfort, Paul (Kim) Blackburn of Artesia, NM, David (Jeanne) Blackburn of Morristown, TN, Steven (Maureen) Blackburn of Lafayette; 5 Sisters; 2 Brothers; 18 Grandchildren; and 30 Great Grandchildren. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

She was a sweet lady, enjoyed the times she was out visiting with y’all.
