Stella Marie Curts

Stella Marie Curts, 108, of Frankfort went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 just two days prior to her 109th birthday. She was born on September 18, 1905 in Forest to Wesley Lonzo & Zettie Eunice (Nolan) Snell. She married Losa Brown and they later divorced. She then married Floyd “Pat” Curts in 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1972. Stella was a homemaker and was a member of the Frankfort Women of the Moose, a charter member of the Eagles, and a former member of Gamma Alpha Chapter of Delta Sigma Kappa Sorority. Stella was featured in “The Good Old Days” magazine in 2011 for her 106th birthday where they requested a card shower for her. She received 496 cards including one from every state. On September 28, 2011 she was featured on the Today Show with Willard Scott and appeared on the Smuckers Jar.

Survivors include her Son: Donald (Gail) Snell of Crown Point; Daughters: Delores R. Studle of Russellville, KY, Wilma A. (Clarence) Pippenger of Frankfort, and Norma J. (Tom) Stowers of Frankfort; Sister: Flossie Arnold of Williamsport, IN; 23 Grandchildren, 65 Great-Grandchildren, 116 Great-Great-Grandchildren, and 21 Great-Great-Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sons: Robert Brown and Charles Brown, Daughter: Bonnie Howe, 3 brothers, 1 sister, 4 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center, Frankfort, IN. Friends may visit from Noon until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery.
