James D. “Butch” Thomas, 75, of Frankfort, passed away July 27, 2020 at Aperion Care Frankfort. He was born on December 27, 1944 in Frankfort to James Edward & Geraldine (Martin) Thomas. He married Linda Carol Reeves on October 11, 1963 in Farmington, New Mexico and she survives.
Jim served in the United States National Guard and earned his GED from Frankfort High School. He worked at Esserman Tire in Frankfort for 15 years, as a security guard at Securitas for 6 years and had previously been a reserve deputy for the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department. He was a former member of the Frankfort Eagles and VFW, a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders of America. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping, and was an avid NASCAR fan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jim’s honor to the Paw Pals of Clinton County, P.O. Box 124, Frankfort, IN 46041.
Visitation and Services
A Funeral Service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2020 at Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center, 501 E. Clinton Street, Frankfort. Friends may visit 3 p.m. until the time of service at 5 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. The family asks that in accordance with guidelines, visitors maintain social distancing and that a mask be worn. We appreciate your cooperation and patience.

Surviving along with his wife, Linda are his Daughters: Carol Marie Sims of Lebanon and Tina Lynn (Shirldon) Winegard of Frankfort; Brothers: Mike Thomas of Farmington, NM and Danny Thomas of Frankfort; Sisters: Carolyn Thomas (Jerry Chambers) of Frankfort and Patty Reames; Grandchildren: CJ Thomas, Julie Winegard, Amanda Weise, Shirldon Winegard III, and Aaron Michael Winegard; and Great-Grandchildren: Claudia and Amber Weise.
