Jerry F. Colby, 84, of rural Frankfort, died February 26, 2024 at Mulberry Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born November 26, 1939 in Frankfort, IN to the late Robert H. & Desta Irene (Reed) Colby. He was formerly married to Pat Schimmel and Suzanne Sparks.
Jerry was a 1958 graduate of Frankfort High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1958-1962. Jerry was a letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office for 30 years, retiring in 1992. He then worked for the Milky Way. His memberships include; Moose Lodge #7, American Legion and Marine Corps League. Jerry enjoyed reading, watching old movies and listening to the old radio shows. He was also a fan of NFL, especially the Indianapolis Colts and college football and basketball, enjoying the purity of the college athlete’s love for the game.
Visitation and Services
Visitation will be from Noon-2 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2024 at Archer-Weston Funeral and Cremation Center, 501 E. Clinton St., Frankfort. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park.

Son: Jerry Scott (Bridy) Colby of Frankfort, Step-Son: Jason Disinger of Frankfort, Step-Daughters: April Teagarden of Colfax, Julie Connor of Frankfort, Brother: Robert R. Colby of FL, Sisters: Linda Bowen of Lazonseville, Sandra (Jerry) Roth of Frankfort, Grandchildren: Michael, Stephen and Isabella and 1 Great-Grandson, Axel.
So sorry for your loss Scott. Your dad was a great man with a big heart.
