Myrtie May Amos Tharp, 82, of Frankfort, passed away October 11, 2021 in her home. She was born on October 2, 1939 in Wayne County, Kentucky to John and Mattie (Corrinder) Smith.
Myrtie attended Mulberry High School. She worked for National Cigar Factory for 6 years, Jewel Simon for 5 years, was a chef at Frankfort Moose Lodge for 12 ½ years, was a CNA for Wesley Manor and retired as a CNA from Northwood Village in Kokomo after 9 years. She attended Connecting Point Church in Frankfort. She loved cooking, sewing, and quilting, but her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made in Myrtie’s honor to the American Cancer Society, Attn: RFL Clinton County, 5635 West 96th Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278.
Visitation and Services
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 18, 2021 at Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center, 501 East Clinton Street, Frankfort. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery, Frankfort.

Surviving are her Daughters: Lue Ann (Dennis) Morrow of Delphi and Michelle Renee Johnson of Kokomo; Sons: Clayton Lloyd Amos Jr. of Frankfort, Dorsel William Amos of Frankfort, and Jeff Lynn (Sheri) Amos of Greenfield; 10 Grandchildren; and 17 Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, a sister, and son: Charles Kevin.
I am so very sorry to hear this. She was my cousin and a special person. When I would talk to her she would always tell me about her children and grandchildren.
