Peggy Annell Coomer, 70, of Frankfort, passed away October 29, 2020. She was born on March 18, 1950 in Frankfort to Billy Francis and Ruth Marie (Martin) Johnson. She married Melvin Coomer on July 4, 1969. They were married for 33 years and he survives.
Peggy was a 1968 graduate of Frankfort Senior High School and earned her LPN license from Ivy Tech, her RN license from Indiana State, and her degree in Business Administration from St. Mary of the Woods. She worked as a nurse for AP&S Clinic in Terre Haute and as Director of Nursing at Heritage Healthcare in West Lafayette. She was a member of the St. Mary of the Woods Alumni Association. Peggy was a devoted Christian who loved her grandchildren and her dog: Ringo.
Memorial donations may be made in Peggy’s honor to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation, 8815 Conroy Windermere Road, Suite 309, Orlando, FL 32835 or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Visitation and Services
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2020 at Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center, 501 East Clinton Street, Frankfort. Friends may visit 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Peggy's final resting place will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Out of respect for the health, safety, and comfort of all in attendance, guests will be expected to adhere to current CDC guidelines regarding appropriate social distancing and the wearing of masks.

Surviving are her Daughters: Melissa Wallace of Frankfort, Cheryl Coomer of Plainfield, and Rebecca (Rashid) Lamarre of Chicago; Sister: Patsy Leach of Tennessee; and Grandchildren: Casey Coomer, Sylas Cooper, Reece Leverenz, Jaxon Cooper, Emerald Wallace, and Kaya Lamarre.
