R. Maxine Gardner, 90, of Frankfort, went home to be with the Lord on October 6, 2020 in her home. She was born on June 18, 1930 in Darlington, Ind. to Ed and Maude Kendall. She married Donald K. Gardner on June 26, 1946 in Darlington and he preceded her in death on August 18, 1997.
Maxine grew up in Darlington and moved to Frankfort in 1956. She and Donald spent the winters of 1982 – 1994 in McAllen, Texas. She worked for Peter Paul Cadbury Company for 21 years, Douglas Law Office for 8 years, and B&B Shipping for 5 years. Maxine loved her family. She was a member of the Patriot Motorcycle Club, loved riding her motorcycle, and enjoyed playing shuffleboard.
Memorial donations may be made in Maxine’s honor to Guardian Angel Hospice, 513 West Lincoln Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902.
Visitation and Services
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2020 at Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center, 501 East Clinton Street, Frankfort. Friends may visit from Noon until the time of service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Out of respect for the health, safety, and comfort of all in attendance, guests will be expected to adhere to current CDC guidelines regarding appropriate social distancing and the wearing of masks.

Surviving are her Son: Shorty (Sally) Gardner of Frankfort; Grandchildren: Leslie (Andy) Smith of Frankfort and J.R. Gardner of Galena, IL; and 7 Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 51 years: Donald Gardner.
