Robert D. “Bob” Haines, 79, of Colfax, passed away September 22, 2024 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.  He was born on December 25, 1944 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Lloyd and Beatrice (Weir) Haines.  He married Laura Waggoner on December 21, 1963 and she preceded him in death on November 16, 2008.

Bob was a 1963 graduate of Clinton Prairie High School and retired from Chrysler in Kokomo after 31 years of service.  He was a member of the UAW 685 and also a member of the NRA.  He loved being outdoors in nature and putting around his property on his gator.  He especially loved cutting wood and enjoyed tinkering on Model A’s and John Deere tractors.

Visitation and Services

Friends may visit from 5 – 7 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2024 at Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center, 501 East Clinton Street, Frankfort.  A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2024 at the funeral home.  Pastor John Fitzgerald will officiate.  Burial will follow the service in Plainview Cemetery in Colfax. 

Survived by:

Surviving are his Son: Darrell Haines of Thorntown;  Daughters: Angela Jenkins (Kent Scott) of Michigantown and Tonya (Shawn) Hudson of Darlington; Grandchildren: Shelby Millburg, Chelsi (Nash) Kelly, Kevin Hudson, and Cassidi Jenkins; Great-Grandchildren: Oaklyn, Lyric, Rexton, and Brantley; along with his Nephew: Nick Corcoran.  

Preceded by:

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sisters: Connie Gann and Vickie Corcoran, and his grandson: Levi Jenkins.

    I’m so sorry for your loss it’s hard to see someone go, but no more suffering and he gained his wings

    Darrell, Tonya, Angie so sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing he was a wonderful person he used to work on our truck when you lived in town. Your Mom an I met through selling Tupperware years ago. Your Dad came to our house about 10 years ago, hadn’t seen him in years. Jim and Jim talked for a couple hours such good memories sending prayers for you all,

    I’m sorry for all the family’s loss. Had the pleasure of taking a ride around the barn lot in one of the Model A’s and on the gator with Bob he was a good guy.
