Avis Davis age 79 of Colfax passed away in her residence January 2, 2010. Born August 8, 1930 in Clinton County, Indiana to William H. & Vera E. (Haggerty) Street. She was a graduate of Colfax High School. She worked several years at Miller?s Restaurant in Colfax, Peter Paul Cadbury Inc. in Frankfort, then after retirement she worked for Colfax Pizza King. She was a member of Colfax Christian Church. She married Boyd ?Lefty? Davis on March 26, 1948 in Colfax and he preceded her in death November 29, 2006. Surviving is a son: Bobby Davis (Susan) of Frankfort, a daughter: Bonnie L. Davis of Colfax, a granddaughter raised in the Davis? home: Christine Crow (Dan) of Colfax;4 other grandchildren: Deanna Davis, Ashley Lennon, Austin Cline, and Carrie Turner;5 great grandchildren, and her 4 legged grandbaby “Penny”. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday January 6, 2010 at Archer-Weston Funeral Home in Frankfort. Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery in Colfax. Friends may call 4-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials appreciated to the Alzheimer?s Association 50 East 91st Street Suite 100 Indianapolis, IN 46209-4830.
