Bertha G. Cottrell, 89, of Frankfort, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 in her home. She was born on April 6, 1927 in Tasewell, TN to John and Julia (Massengill) Ayers. She attended school in Ewing, VA. She married John Cottrell in 1949 in Middlesboro, KY and he preceded her in death on March 13, 1986. She was a press operator at Harmeson Manufacturing and donated her time to the Salvation Army. She has been a member of Victory Chapel since she moved to Frankfort in 1966. She enjoyed reading her Bible and loved her family and church.
Memorial donations may be made in Bertha’s honor to the Victory Chapel with envelopes available at the funeral home.
Visitation and Services
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center in Frankfort. Friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2016 at the funeral home. Pastor James Barnard will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park.

Survivors include her Son: James D. Cottrell (Companion: Wanda Melton) of Frankfort; Sister: Lorraine Faulkner of Corbin, KY; Brother: Harley Ayers of Ewing, VA; 7 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, and 10 Great Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband, Son: Roy E. Cottrell, Daughter-in-law: Christie Cottrell, 7 Brothers, and 3 Sisters.
Cottrell Family. Bertha worked for us in our restaurant. God gained a great lady. I was just thinking about her the other day. I will be keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. May God Bless all.

Facebook Twitter GoogleWow, so hard to read this. I remember many, many Sundays that she would pick us up for Sunday school. She is the one who taught me about God. I know she will be missed by many. But for those of us who had the privilege to know her knows she is truly in heaven and extremely happy right now.
