James D. “Jim” Wharry

James D. “Jim” Wharry, 82, of Holiday, FL formerly of Frankfort passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Florida Hospital of North Pinellas in Tarpon Springs, FL. He was born March 5, 1932 in Indianapolis. His Parents were Herschel J. and Mary Fern (Douglas) Wharry. He married Carolyn McCray on August 31, 1952 and they divorced. He then married Betty J. Crews on February 12, 1994 and they divorced Jim lived most of his life in Clinton County before retiring to Florida. He was a 1950 graduate of Frankfort High School and a Corporal in the United States Army serving in Korea. He was a clerk/carrier for the Frankfort Post Office and also farmed with his father. He was a member of Kilmore United Methodist Church, a life member and past Commander of the American Legion, life member of the VFW, life member of the Moose Lodge, and a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Eagles Lodge, and the Beard Masonic Lodge F&AM #641 and Scottish Rite.

Visitation and Services

Friends may visit 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2015 with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m. at Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center, Frankfort. A graveside service with military rites is pending at Kilmore Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Jim's honor to the Clinton County Cancer Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home.

Survivors include his Sons: Ronald E. Wharry and Gary W. Wharry both of Frankfort; Daughters: Kathy Sue Kincade of Lafayette and Debbie Jean Kraner of Frankfort; 7 Grandchildren; and 11 Great-Grandchildren.

    Kathy, So sad for the loss of your father. It’s so hard to lose a parent, somehow we think they’re always going to be with us. Lost my father in August of 1973 and my mother in August of 2011. Miss them terribly. You are in my prayers.
