James Edwin Grove age 88 of Mulbery Health & Retirement community formerly of Frankfort passed away October 8, 2008 at Home Hospital in Lafayette.? He was born January 22, 1920 in Rankin, Illinois to James E. & Edna M. (Sweet) Grove.? He was a graduate of Frankfort High School class of 1938.?? He served in the Army – Air Force during World War II.? He worked for the Nickel Plate Railroad and then the Norfolk-Southern as a brakeman and retired as Conductor.? His memberships included the American Legion, Elks, Moose, Eagles, and Masonic Lodges all in Frankfort, and he was an active longtime member of St. Paul&’s Lutheran Church in Frankfort.? He married Lorraine Sandnas on November 13, 1943 and she survives.? Surviving with his wife of Mulberry is a son: Philip J. Grove of Chicago, IL one brother: Richard Grove (Helen) of Frankfort and a sister: Esther Kesterson of Frankfort.? He was preceded in death by 2 brothers.? Services will be held 11 AM Friday, October 10, 2008 at St. Paul&’s Lutheran Church 2029 S. SR 39 Frankfort, entombment following in Greenlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.? Friends may call after 10 AM Friday at the church, with Masonic burial rites at 10 AM. Memorials appreciated to St. Paul&’s Lutheran Church.? Arrangements are entrusted to Archer-Weston Funeral Home in Frankfort.?
