James R. “Bob” Swafford, 75, of Monticello, Ind., passed away May 6, 2021 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. He was born on November 11, 1945 in Lebanon to Clovis and Mary Swafford.
Bob was a 1962 graduate of Twin Lakes High School. He served in the United States Navy. He worked for Shumate in Lafayette for 25 years and retired from Monon Trailer Company after serving there for over 10 years as a security guard. He was a member of the Colfax American Legion and loved fishing, hunting, and horses.
Memorial donations may be made in Bob’s honor to the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center, 1481 West 10th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202.

No services are planned. Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center, 501 East Clinton Street, Frankfort is honored to assist the Swafford family.

Surviving are his Daughters: Andrea (Travis) Waddell of Frankfort, Amber Hodges of Colfax, and Michelle Swafford of Veedersburg; Brother: Ronnie Swafford of Illinois; Sister: Marjorie Swafford of Texas; several Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren; along with several Nieces; Nephews; and Cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Bill Swafford, sisters: Janet Laurmer and Kay Parks Swafford, and his daughter: Melissa Swafford.
Andrea, continued prayers for your whole family. I’m so sad so much has happened. You’ve had so many great losses. Hugs to you. Your daddy sounded like he was such a wonderful man.
