Karen Kay Parke, 72, of Colfax passed away October 8, 2013 in her home. She was born on April 21, 1941 to Clovis Stanley and Mary Maxine (Jones) Swafford. She married Max B. Parke on November 28, 1964 in Whitestown and he survives.;Karen was a 1961 graduate of Whitestown High School. She was a homemaker. She attended Colfax Methodist Church and loved knitting & reading.;Surviving along with her husband are her daughter: Tamara Lynn Parke of Colfax, son: Jeffrey Allen (Jennifer) Parke of Lebanon, sisters: Marjorie (Carl) Douglas of Texas and Janet Larimer of Monticello, brothers: James Robert Swafford of Monticello and Ronnie Swafford of St. Elmo, IL, and 4 grandchildren;She was preceded in death by her parents, son: James Byron Parke, and brother: John William Swafford.;Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Plainview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Diabetes Foundation with envelopes available at the service.
