Lorraine Pluhar

Lorraine D. Pluhar, 91, formerly of Frankfort passed away August 29, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Lakeland, FL. She was born December 24, 1921 in Chicago, IL to Frank and Rose (Tikalsky) Cepican. She married Edward N. Pluhar on June 28, 1940 in Chicago and he preceded her in death. Lorraine attended 2 years of college at Moraine Valley Community College in Oaklawn, IL. She worked as a Customer Service Representative for 20 years at Griffith Laboratories in Alsip, IL. She was previously a Friends of the Manor board member at Wesley Manor. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Frankfort, Ladies of Charity, Altar & Rosary Society, and the Secular Franciscan Order. Survivors include 3 Sons: Edward “Ed” (Suzanne) Pluhar of Frankfort, Lawrence “Larry” (Etta Kay) Pluhar of Lockport, IL, and Christopher “Chris” (Paula) Pluhar of Lakeland, FL; 9 Grandchildren; 16 Great Grandchildren; and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 Son, 1 Daughter, 3 Sisters and 2 Brothers. Private Family Services will be held. Archer-Weston Funeral Home is assisting the family with services. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Lebanon. Memorial donations may be made to the Secular Franciscan Order with envelopes available at the funeral home.

    So sorry to hear of her passing. I miss seeing her at Mass and the times when we would go to McDonalds after daily Mass. May you find comfort knowing she is celebrating with our Lord.

    I knew Lorie from McDonalds coffee days after church. Lorie was full of love, laughter and interesting information. I missed her when she moved to Florida and I will trully miss her now, but will see her again some time. God Bless her family.
