Paul Winfer Smith

Paul Winfer Smith, 78, of Frankfort, Ind., passed away October 16, 2023 surrounded by family at his sister’s home.  He was born on May 5, 1945 in Wayne County, Kentucky to George Benjamin and Dortha Mae (Rigney) Smith.  He married Sharon L. Koehl in 1970 in Angola and she preceded him in death on January 24, 2014.

Paul was a 1965 graduate of TR White High School in Pendleton.  He was a fork lift driver for SuperValu in Ft. Wayne for 27 years, retiring in 2002 and a member of the Teamsters Union.  He enjoyed camping and traveling and was a true “snowbird”, wintering in Texas since 2010.  He loved animals and had always had dogs and horses.  Paul was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan and never missed a NASCAR race, Kyle Busch was his favorite driver.

Memorial Donations may be made in Paul’s honor to the Clinton County Cancer Fund.

Visitation and Services

A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center, 501 E. Clinton Street, Frankfort.  Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m.  Burial will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Park in Frankfort.

Surviving are his Daughter: Amanda (Kaleb) Harris of Kendleville; Son: Jamie Williams of Frankfort; Step-Son: David (Terri) Darling of Arizona; Siblings: James Smith, Larry (Maxine) Smith, Roger Smith, Katy (Sam) Tarr, Janie Dean, Jeff Smith, and Brenda (Bob) Bales all of Frankfort; 7 Grandchildren; and 9 Great-Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, step-son: William Lewis, sisters: Betty Sue Smith and Joyce Hackett, brother: Tommy Smith, and his sister-in-law: Meme Smith.
