Phyllis J. Wampler age 80 of Frankfort passed away in her home after a lengthy battle with cancer Sunday April 26, 2009 surrounded by her family. She was born March 28, 1929 in Frankfort, Indiana to Harry & Gladys (Hite) Pletch. She married Russell L. Wampler on March 11, 1950 in Frankfort and he preceded her in death on May 8, 2004. She worked several years for Peter Paul, Mallory Timers, Piedmonte Foods, and worked in the office many years in the family business Wampler?s Disposal Service. Her memberships included American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries, Women of the Moose, Eagles and Elks. She loved her pets and all animals and enjoyed being outdoors feeding birds, and gardening. Survivors include: 2 sons: William L. Wampler of Kokomo, John E. Wampler (Trina) of Frankfort, and a daughter: Joan E. Hanna (Jerry) of Frankfort. 4 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. 2 sisters: Nancy Thomas of Lafayette and Sue Smart (Pete) of Frankfort. She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 brother and 1 sister. Private Family services will be held. Arrangements entrusted to Archer-Weston Funeral Home.
