Shirley A. Galvin, 78, of Frankfort passed away January 16, 2013 at IU Health Arnett, Lafayette. She was born May 2, 1934 in Cadiz, Kentucky to Sanford and Lillie (Sumner) Joiner. She married George A. Galvin in 1954 in Edwardsville, IL and he preceded her in death on October 20, 2001.;Shirley graduated from Frankfort High School in 1952. She worked for the Peter Paul for 19 years and was a cashier at Family Dollar in Frankfort. She was a member of and former Chaplain of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 12 and a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 1110.;Survivors include daughters: Melody Ballard (Paul) of Frankfort and Christina McDaniel (James) of Frankfort, brother: William Joiner (Patty) of Lebanon, 6 Grandchildren, and 5 Great-Grandchildren.;She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 Daughter – Tracie Gonzalas who passed away January 5, 2011, and 2 brothers – Douglas Joiner and Dennis Joiner, Sr.;Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Archer-Weston Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Pastor Jeremy Turner will officiate. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park in Frankfort. Memorial donations may be made to the American Legion Post 12 with envelopes available at the funeral home.

    Melody and Chris, I am so sorry to hear of your moms passing, she was a great lady, I have a lot of childhood memories of her and your dad, You will be in my thoughts and prayers in the coming days, cherish your memories, I know you have alot of them, again I am sorry!!!
