W. Joanne Weston, 82, formerly of Frankfort passed away October 4, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. in IU North Hospital, in Carmel, Indiana. She was born November 21, 1930 in Brook, Indiana to Kermit Quentin & Velva Irene (Bartlett) Whaley. She married James H. Weston on July 21, 1950 in Brook, Indiana and he survives. Joanne was a 1948 graduate of Brook High School. She assisted her husband in the operation of their family funeral homes in Brook, Morocco, and later in Frankfort. Natives of Brook, Indiana, she and Jim made their home there until 1985 when they moved to Frankfort. They later moved to Westfield, Indiana and she had resided for the past two years in Kindred at Bridgewater Nursing Facility. She was a former member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Frankfort and a 50-year member of Psi Iota Xi sorority. Surviving along with her husband, Jim are Sons: Gregory J. Weston (Mary) of Westfield, IN and Michael P. Weston (Cindy) of Bloomington, IN; 4 Grandchildren: Lisa Bergeson, Garrett Weston, Elizabeth Blackwell and Brandon Place; 6 Great-grandchildren: Stuart, Isabelle, Abe, Kaylee, Keon, and Lilly; 2 Brothers: Robert Whaley (Chris) of Las Vegas, NV and Maurice Whaley (Phyllis) of Goodland, IN; and 8 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. The Weston family with receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon EST Monday, October 7, 2013 at Archer-Weston Funeral Home, 501 East Clinton Street, Frankfort, Indiana. Graveside service and burial will follow at 3 p.m. EST at Riverside Cemetery in Brook, Indiana with Rick Gerts officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital, Indianapolis with envelopes available at the service.
